Jefferson Christian Academy (JCA) will be opening under “normal” conditions (subject to facility capacity) for the 2020-2021 academic year. JCA will be in session 5 days a week (8:15am - 3:15pm.)
Pre-entrance checks
Student temperatures will be taken each morning as they arrive at school, prior to entering the building. Any student with a temperature 100 or greater will not be allowed to enter the building for the day. Parents will need to remain in the drop off area until their children are cleared.
Self-quarantine
If a student or household family member has knowingly been exposed to someone with COVID-19 symptoms they must self-quarantine for 14 days. JCA will provide students with the materials and classwork to continue distance learning during the quarantine period. Self-quarantined students will not be marked absent as long as they complete the required coursework in a timely manner.
Social Distancing
Social distancing will be practiced when feasible. Lunches will be held outside of the classroom and will be divided up based on the number of students to provide opportunities for some distancing. Special lunches will be suspended until further notice.
PPEs
PPEs will be available, but optional. Hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies will be available.
Cleaning
Cleaning protocols will be increased.
In the event of an outbreak
If JCA has a student, staff, or faculty member who tests positive for COVID-19 JCA will follow the CDC guidelines and close for 14-days. Missed days may be made up as necessary to meet the academic requirements. In the event of a resurgence or outbreak, JCA will follow all state guidelines as mandated, including switching to distance learning if in-classroom instruction is not an option.
