Elementary and Secondary School Assistant Administrator Position Available

 

Job Purpose

Under the administrator's direction, the assistant administrator will lead the instruction and training of students and monitor all school activities. The assistant administrator will work closely with teachers, the athletic director, students, parents, and school administration to ensure that academic success and character development are achieved by all students in the classroom.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Capable of serving as acting administrator or substitute teacher in extreme circumstances
  • Develop and implement daily instruction plans as part of the long-range educational and organizational goals
  • Employ a variety of creative, differentiated, and research-based instructional strategies that ensure students are actively engaged in meaningful and rigorous learning experiences
  • Conduct interim assessments, track teacher progress, and perform regular data analysis to determine teacher competency and diagnose areas of misunderstanding
  • Actively and professionally participate in all faculty and staff meetings, professional development, and events
  • Keeping parents informed of dates, timelines, and other pertinent information they need to have
  • Helping students find colleges, trade schools, or jobs that will help them pursue God’s will for their lives
  • Making students aware of local scholarships, individual college scholarships, private scholarships, and federal programs
  • Helping students apply to college and for scholarships
  • Making students aware of ACT and SAT dates and helping them complete the application forms
  • Assisting students in applying for scholarships and federal programs, completing the FAFSA and other college financial forms
  • Lining up college visits for students with admission officers
  • Coordinate JCA student’s access to the Giles High School Tech Center
  • Offer students academic and career guidance regarding benefits available through ACCE, NRCC, Military Service, etc.
  • Coordinating a Career Fair experience for juniors and seniors to expose them to various fields
  • Helping students with their academics
  • Checking grades at three-week and six-week intervals.  Meet with students to discuss and give advice based on classroom performance.  Meet with faculty and parents as needed with the students.
  • Sending letters to parents informing them of the student's performance and the results of the counseling session. 
  • Resolving petty differences with classmates or teachers
  • Teach, lead, or assist with educational or extracurricular activities outside of regular school hours
  • Assist with scholar recruitment efforts as needed
  • Live and act as a biblical role model in your life for our students, team members and community
  • Agree to always comply with our Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith
  • Perform other duties as requested or required

  • Maintain accurate and complete records, including but not limited to: tuition, athletics attendance, behavior, student achievement data, grades, progress reports, parent communication, textbooks, etc.

  • Assume responsibility for student success by holding all scholars accountable to school-wide behavioral expectations
  • Recognize, celebrate, and reward teacher and student achievement and character development

Academic Excellence

  • Establish a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment where all students are invested in their academic excellence and character growth and can fulfill their potential
  • Set measurable, ambitious, and attainable goals for the year and each interim assessment cycle
  • Evaluate teacher progress through regular and varied assessments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Strong management and bookkeeping skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an administrative or teaching position in a Christian Organization, preferred
  • At least 1-3 years of teaching experience, preferred
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the ability to learn additional systems with appropriate training
  • Experience with school teaching platform (Sycamore) and technology for virtual learning, preferred
  • Proven track record of student achievement results
