New Student Hope Scholarship Application

The eligibility rules for the West Virginia Hope Scholarship Program change for the 2026-2027 school year, making current nonpublic school students eligible to participate for the first time without prior public-school enrollment. Applications for new Hope Scholarship students for the 2026-2027 school year will open on March 2, 2026.  In order to complete the application, all students must have a West Virginia Information System (WVEIS) ID number from their local county board of education.

The Hope Scholarship Program has released a form for students who will be newly eligible for the 2026-2027 school year to request a WVEIS ID# to be prepared for their application next spring. The same form will be used if you need to request a WVEIS ID# for an incoming kindergarten student for the 2026-2027 school year. Due to the high volume of potential students who need to request a WVEIS ID#, we encourage you to complete the WVEIS ID Request Form as soon as possible to ensure that the county board of education has sufficient time to provide the number in advance of the application window opening. Please refer to the instructions found here for more information regarding the form and how to submit it.  If you already know your student’s existing WVEIS ID# for the Hope Scholarship application, there is no need to complete the form.

We are excited for the 2026-2027 school year and the opportunity the Hope Scholarship eligibility expansion will provide for West Virginia students!

Jefferson Christian Academy is an approved education provider for our Hope Scholarship Families. This program currently provides up to $4900 per student from West Virginia for education expenses. Right now the program is open for all students.
