JCA welcomes all student-athletes from all institutions (JCA, homeschool, public). However, if roster positions are limited, JCA will follow these guidelines:
- As a policy, as a private Christian school, JCA reserves the right to select JCA students first, homeschooled students second, and public-school students third during the try-out process.
- As a policy, JCA coaches will briefly meet with each player who has tried out and evaluate their try-out. After their evaluation, the coach will inform the student of whether or not they have been selected to join the team. Any issues related to the try-out process should be directed to the Athletics Director, not individual coaches.
- Athletes are evaluated based on their ability to perform, character, and overall coachability. Grade level, years of experience, and age are secondary measures for player evaluations.
- Questions or disputes over try-out results should be held until the 24-hour rule has been observed and adhere to the social media policy.
